adaptive gripper system

development of an universal gripper system for handling different vessels in automation technology

the aim of the award-winning bachelor thesis was to develop a gripper which can handle vessels with different geometries. first, the control type and gripping principle were selected so that the first prototype could be designed. the adaptive gripper fingers are special features. they were inspired by vises that can adapt to the component geometry. with the help of compressed air, the adaptive gripper fingers can touch, hold and move any bottle. another special feature is that of a generative design structure.

two prototypes were successfully developed. as a result, it is now possible to deliver physical materials precisely from almost any cylindrical vessel.
