beckhoff xplanar magnetic levitation technology moves objects magnetically free-floating and wear-free, noiseless and hygienically in up to six degrees of freedom. the integrated permanent magnets plus control programming of mrm² allow the xplanar movers to transport small and larger loads through the production process in a floating and highly precise manner.

we use the beckhoff's xplanar system as part of our automation solutions, when loads have to be transported under particularly demanding conditions, for example under strict hygiene conditions, or when there are high demands on flexibility in terms of load and space requirements. the positioning accuracy of the movers is 1 μm (x, y, z axis), they can be tilted up to 5° and accelerated to up to 3 m/s. the load can be lifted up to 15 mm, which can offer great added value in robotic projects.

during the ongoing process, the position of each individual mover can always be precisely queried. this mover identification is made available to the control software and offers major advantages in terms of quality assurance.
